The China Young Water Forum was a regional workshop organized by YWAT in China. It has been composed of two parts: young technology forum and questionnaire workshop.
In the forum Prof. Yan Yixin, the deputy president of Hohai University made a welcome address to the participants in the name of Hohai University. PhD. Rongchao Li, secretary of YWAT, has delivered a speech representing YWAT. Ms. Ilona, regional workshop task forces secretary from YWAT, introduced YWAT and explained the detail of YWAT regional workshop. The forum was presided over by Prof. Zengchuan Dong, dean of Water Resources and Environment Institute from Hohai University.
The Hohai University is the home partner of YWAT in China, and also the executing agency of this forum. The forum has invited more than 110 representatives from relevant water research institutes and universities, including young professionals, lecturers, doctor candidate students, master candidate students and some outstanding undergraduate students. It has also invited some famous professors in water sectors to give lectures, such as Prof. Liu Heng from Nanjing Hydrology Research Institute of Water Resources Ministry, Prof. Li Yuanhua from Drainage and Irrigation Center of Water Resources Ministry, Prof. Chen Minjian from China Institute of Water Resources and Hydropower Research, Prof. Zhu Qinping, chief engineer with Yellow River Water Conservancy Commission, and Prof. Dong Zengchuan, dean with water resources and environment institute of Hohai University.
This forum is the first regional workshop organized by YWAT. In two months, YWAT will organize respectively regional workshops in North America, Africa, South East Asia and Europe. All the results of the workshops will be reported to The Third World Water Forum that will be held in Kyoto, Japan, this March after being analyzed and compared.
