Green Belgium - Since 1997, GREEN Belgium has been working to promote sustainable development, water issues, education and public participation. Through educational projects aimed at several target groups, mainly youngsters, GREEN Belgium aims to foster enlightened attitudes and policies towards sustainable water management. GREEN Belgium is part of the 'Global Rivers Environmental Education Network', or 'GREEN' for short. This world-wide network unites people and organisations dedicated to the protection of water, the source of all life.

Fund Raising Network - ?We don?t have funds.? This is the usual argument of many organizations concerning their inability to execute their projects. The Fund Raising Network was established to serve as an avenue in gathering funding sources for the Civil Society Sector (CSS) that needs funding for their initiatives and for foundations, individuals and the Private Sector to help accomplish their projects.

The 3rd World Water Forum - The 3rd Water Forum will be developed so as to promote the evolution from a forum of ideas to a forum of practice, from a forum of proposals to a forum for active sharing. The underlying intent is to encourage solidarity and strength of action. The evolution from a forum of declarations to a forum of commitment to take concrete action will see the participants focusing their discussions on actual river basin issues.
Second World Water Forum & Ministerial Conference - What began as an ambitious idea has become a tremendous success. The Forum and the Ministerial Conference have put water firmly on the international agenda. Never before, as H.R.H. the Prince of Orange remarked, has the world seen such a large gathering of water specialists, concerned citizens, politicians and organisation representatives. In total, almost 6000 participants were counted in The Hague, a figure that far exceeded our best expectations. Check out the Youth Forum!

Water in Rivers Web Site - These consultations on water-related issues focus on people, food and nature, but they miss a chance to develop the viewpoint that all these issues are only resolved through the dimension of "Rivers". This viewpoint provides a new focus connecting people, food and nature on a common ground, "rivers". In this sense, we have named this consultation "Water in Rivers".

Europe-Netherlands: All about JCI: Junior Chamber The Netherlands - Junior Chamber Rotterdam started the project World Wide Water Awareness at the end of the 1990s, realising that water is as necessary as scarce. JCI aims to increase the worldwide awareness of the scarcity of fresh water.

World Water Assessment Programme - This UN-wide programme seeks to develop the tools and skills needed to achieve a better understanding of those basic processes, management practices and policies that will help improve the supply and quality of global freshwater resources.
World Water Council - Its mission is to promote awareness of critical water issues at all levels, including the highest decision-making level, to facilitate efficient conservation, protection, development, planning, management and use of water in all its dimensions on an environmentally sustainable basis for the benefit of all life on the earth.

Right to Water - This web site was launched on Wednesday, December 10th, 2003 to coincide with International Human Rights Day. The new web site is a joint venture between UKcharity, WaterAid, the human rights organisation, Rights & Humanity and the Freshwater Action Network. The website has been developed to stress the vital importance of water to life, particularly in light of last year's United Nations declaration of access to water as a human right. The website is a comprehensive resource that is divided into two sections. The first explains the development of international water policies as well as international human rights law. The second part is an action guide to promote the use of the right to water as a tool for community empowerment and advocacy. The website is another resource that will contribute towards strengthening the argument and focus of peoples' right to water and the site includes a lot of information for everyone. The site will continue to be developed and updated.
Freshwater Action Network - The Freshwater Action Network is a global network of environmental and developmental Non-Governmental and Community Based Organizations working to strengthen civil society's participation in international water policy formulation. The web site includes information on FAN members and activities of the network including the recently established FAN-Central America network and ANEW, African Network of Civil Society Organisations on Water.

Youth Water Network - Although young people are not able to vote, they can still make a positive contribution. They can get involved in decision-making both in schools and across the wider community and should be encouraged to think critically about their role in society and their potential as agents of change. The principles of the Youth Water Network are presented in a Mission Statement as follows: "Our mission is to increase youth participation in order to achieve sustainable water management through the processes of democracy, education and solidarity." Members of the YWN are between 12 and 18 years old.
South Asia Youth Environment Network - South Asia Youth Environment Network (SAYEN) is a youth network, set up in July 2001 and is supported by the UNEP Regional Resource Centre for the Asia and the Pacific (RRC.AP). Centre for Environment Education (CEE) hosts the Secretariat for the network. One or two organizations in each of the South Asian countries have been identified as the National Focal Point (NFP) for the network. Number of SAYEN members in each country ranges from 20 to 100 with over 200 organizations in the region as SAYEN members. NFPs facilitate SAYEN activities in their respective countries. CEE is also NFP for India.
Youth at the United Nations - This programme is the focal point in the UN on youth. It aims to enhance awareness of the global situation of youth and of the rights and aspirations of young people. It works towards greater participation of youth in decision-making for peace and development.
