NEW MEMBERS SELECTION PROCESS

In order to realize YWAT vision for sustainable water future, YWAT needs to increase its potential pool of members towards creating a dynamic youth water movement.

To uphold this vision, YWAT will carefully select new members to increase its ranks.

The procedure for selection will proceed as follows:

An application for membership may be made by an interested individual via the website or through recommendation by other YWAT members or board.

1. Once the request for membership is received via the appropriate application form, either by email or by post or fax, Secretariat will pass the application form and related documents (if any) to the YWAT Board. As soon as an application is received the YWAT secretariat will send an acknowledgement letter, indicating to the applicant that his application will be reviewed within 2-3 weeks and outcome notified.

2. Within a week of receipt of the forms, the Secretary checks out the application form and summarizes the details before putting his/her recommendations and passing it to the rest of the board members. The decision will be based mainly on the existing YWAT criteria (membership guidelines). Special emphasis will be placed on the action based initiative of the applicant.

3. The Board shall make their decisions known within one week (or at most two weeks), with a CC to the YWAT secretariat.

4. Applicants will then be communicated on the outcome of the application via appropriate medium through the Secretariat.* The letter should indicate that once accepted the YWAT member will be given an Information Kit including YWAT basic files (Membership guidelines, YWAT brochure, etc.). The member will also be given access to the login page for local members on www.ywat.org.

* YWAT may reject any application without disclosing reasons to the applicant.
